OUR MEMBERSHIP PROCESS
steps to becoming a sister
Step One: Rushing
During recruitment, we invite those interested in joining to come out to events both on and off campus. Most events will be held with our sisters only, other events will be held with other Greek organizations on campus. This will also give you a chance to check out all Greek life and decide if Delta Alpha Theta is right for you. At the end of this process, the sorority will decide who will be offered a bid to become a pledge.
If you are interested in rushing, please email our recruitment chair by filling out the form under the "Contact Us" tab.
Step Three: Pledging
Being a pledge means that you have committed yourself to Delta Alpha Theta and you are one step closer to becoming a member. At this point, you are no longer permitted to commit yourself to any of the other sororities. There will be pledge classes to attend and you, along with the members of your pledge class, will learn about Delta Alpha Theta's history and values. At the end of these classes, you will take a test to ensure you have learned all you need to know to be an active sister.
Step Two: Bid Day + Rizono
After the rush process, you will find out if you have been offered a bid. If you feel like Delta Alpha Theta is the right fit for you, you can accept and receive a big sister. A big sister is someone who acts as mentor to help guide and support you through your years as an active sister of Delta Alpha Theta and sisterhood. After accepting, your bid you will attend a ceremony where you become an associate member of the sorority (also known as a pledge).
Step Four: Becoming a Sister!
This is the final step in your process of becoming a sister of Delta Alpha Theta! You will attend a New Member's Ceremony where you will become an active sister of Delta Alpha Theta.
