What is Optimist?

It's an association of more than 3,000 Optimist Clubs around the world dedicated to "Bringing Out the Best in Kids." Optimist Clubs conduct positive service projects in their communities aimed at providing a helping hand to youth. With their upbeat attitude, Optimist Club members help empower young people to be the best they can be. Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs. Every year, Optimists conduct 65,000 service projects and serve well over six million young people.

Delta Alpha Theta is not just a sorority. We are also a members of Optimist International. As an Optimist club, we do many events involving children and a great number of our philanthropy events are held through the Optimist club! We're proud to have a hand in "bringing out the best in kids!"

Delta Alpha Theta Optimist Club

My name is Emma Ashton and I am the current President of the DAT Optimist Club for the 2022-2023 year. Since joining DAT Optimist I have been brought into the marvelous world of Optimist International. DAT Optimist as well as the International Optimist community has allowed me to continue with my passion to help others.I have been able to volunteer with a like-minded community group and continued to help youth in my area. It has allowed me unique opportunities to help my community and bring a smile to anyone I can. I am indebted to Optimist International and all the fabulous people I have met during my time as an Optimist Member. I know myself and my club recite the Optimist Creed with pride, holding onto the words that guide us everyday. I have treasured my time on Optimist exec and look forward to another amazing year.
